Covid-19 Notice – What we are doing!
We are all in the middle of an unprecedented time in history. The coronavirus has hit the Detroit Metro area hard. Our hospitals are exclusively caring for coronavirus patients and emergencies as all other health care activities have been temporarily paused. My thoughts are with all of those afflicted as well as my colleagues on the front lines treating our sickest community members.
While I am not on the front lines, my practice is still open. Virtual visits are offered for new and existing patients. We are scheduling procedures and surgeries with an anticipated start date of June 1. My skincare store is open online. My Facebook and Instagram pages have links to promotions for savings on injectables. And finally, I am hosting two giveaways:
- Send me a selfie with the subject “I need Botox” and be entered to win 25 units of Botox.
- Like my Instagram profile and share my handle in a story that says “@dr.ddp is your girlfriend the plastic surgeon” and be entered to win 25 units of Botox. The more people that like my page, the more winners I select for this challenge.
Stay home, stay safe, stay strong.
I am a wife, mom, and native Metro Detroiter who loves 80’s music. Chances are, I am a lot like you. After almost fifteen years of plastic surgery practice, I opened my own solo practice in January 2019.
My goal is to offer high-quality plastic surgery in a relaxed and comfortable environment that doesn’t feel like most doctor’s offices. A patient myself, l know how it feels to be on the other side of the examination table. I have designed an office with that in mind.
My own medical experience nudged me to change career paths from the arts to medicine. It wasn’t until after I graduated from college that I decided to pursue becoming a doctor. After a postbaccalaureate year of study, I applied to medical school and chose Michigan State University (Go Green!) College of Human Medicine for its unique patient-based curriculum. During medical school, I got married (and hyphenated). Though I initially thought I would become a family practitioner, I loved that I could use my hands and my mind in surgery. I went on to complete my residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. That year, only 70 medical students in the country were selected to go directly into the study of plastic surgery without completing a general surgery residency first. Following my residency (and the birth of my first child!), I completed a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at the Institute of Aesthetic Surgery and Medicine in Mount Kisco, New York. There, I began my career and succeeded in becoming Board Certified, passing perhaps the most rigorous examination process in all of medicine.
After nine years of practice, two hurricanes, and the birth of two more children, I returned home to Michigan. I specialize in breast and body contouring, both cosmetic and reconstructive, surgical and nonsurgical facial rejuvenation, surgical and nonsurgical female intimate rejuvenation, breast reconstruction for women with breast cancer, and cosmetic surgery after weight loss.
I maintain a passionate commitment to high-quality patient care. Patients are enveloped in a safe and caring environment, one where both l and my staff provide complete and continuous support from start to finish.
Combining art and science with compassion and understanding, I offer patients a life-changing opportunity for improvement, both externally and internally. My practice is not just about physical change, but about overall life enhancement.
I hope to meet you soon.
While we are under social distancing and shelter at-home instructions, I am offering virtual consultations for new patients interested in meeting with me.
You can do this from a computer (via an invitation) or a smartphone (via an invitation and the Google Meet app).
There are four parts to the consultation:
1. Arrange a consultation by phone or email,
2. Download the new patient forms. Click here.
After you fill them out, you can either fax or email them to me.
3. Once the consultation is arranged, a meeting invite will be sent to you with the link for the consultation. At our prearranged time, follow the link to our secure and private consultation.
There, you and I will have time to talk about your goals, medical history, and all about the procedure.
While the examination is limited to observation in two dimensions, I should be able to determine whether or not you are a candidate for surgery.
4. If you are indeed a surgical candidate, you will be contacted by Andrea, my patient coordinator, to get a surgical quote (or if insurance-based, your expected out of pocket costs), and an opportunity to hold a surgical date.
You will also be given a follow-up visit to confirm with your exam that you are a candidate and preoperative visit time for us to prepare you for surgery.
I hope to (virtually) see you soon!
